The Belmont Wise Guy
Or be a sucker. Your choice.
With Silver Bullet Bob Baffert suspended, sidelined, and shamed, there will be no Derby winner Medina Spirit entered.
This race looks wide open for a field of only eight.
Here’s a three horse exacta box I will use in The Test of the Champion, Belmont Stakes from Elmont, New York on this Saturday dusk:
#3 Rombauer – (3-1) Almost sure the Preakness winner will get dismissed and be closer to 5-1 come post time. Make no mistake, it was no fluke he won that race with a huge turn of foot from off the pace. Still eligible to improve after being relatively lightly raced, I see this guy being there at the end.

#4 Hot Rod Charlie – (7-2) The California shipper was ultra game in the Derby coming in third. He can be forwardly placed, and looks likely to have the lead turning for home. The feisty Oxbow colt always seems to like to mix it up and at an honest price for a horse with his speed figures.

#6 Known Agenda – (6-1) Trainer Todd Pletcher has won the Belmont three times, and thinks this son of Curlin is sitting on a big race. A troubled ninth place finish in the Derby is an angle against him. Losing jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. is another. Fine. Make him 10-1, then.

Lets box the #3, #4, and #6, and win some solid USD.
One more Saturday night party…
